Mike Leaty has been around NASCAR auto racing his whole life.
From 1996-1999 he worked as a mechanic on his father’s
Featherlite Modified, where he had a lot of fun and learned a
lot. Before that Mike raced a go-cart at a couple local tracks
and brought home a track championship at the age of 12.
In 2000, Mike started racing a street stock. He had a good
rookie year winning one feature, finishing in the top ten in
points and followed that up the next season by winning three
features, and missing the season championship by only a few
points. |
