Another Top 5 for Leaty and Team
After last week, my entire Wayne Regional Orthopaedics/Rochester Steel Treating team needed a good run. Luckily we got one Friday night at Spencer Speedway. We started off with a solid fourth place finish in the heat which allowed us to start the feature in the 12th position.

My goal to start the race was to FINISH. At the drop of the green flag we were on the move. It was a slow march to the front but we were getting there and by halfway we were up to fifth. The car in fourth had a left front going down and was very hard to get by. That cost me a good 8 laps and any chance at a win. We got one more car with a couple laps remaining to get a solid 3rd place finish. It was a great moral booster for my crew and a confidence builder for me as well.

The car is in good shape for this Fridays race and we should be good again this week. We have moved back up to third in the points and are only 8 points out of the lead. With a long season still ahead, we have to just keep doing what we are doing and everything else will take care of itself. - Mike Leaty
